WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?

So shall He sprinkle many nations. Kings shall shut their mouths at Him; For what had not been told them they shall see, And what they had not heard they shall consider. Isaiah 52:15

This passage about the greatness of Jesus begins in Isaiah 52:13 and ends in the last verse of Isaiah 53. Chapter 53 is about the lowliness of Jesus in His beginning days on earth, His suffering on the cross and His greatness after His resurrection.

Isaiah 53 begins with:

Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

The question is likely there because of the greatness of One whose beginning was without greatness and who died on the cross as a criminal.

The question of verse 1 is surely a prophecy of the rejection of Jesus by the unsaved world. However, many who have received Jesus as Lord and Savior are rejecting Him as “The Last Adam” (1 Corinthians 15:45).

Romans 5:14 declares that the first Adam is a figure (picture) of “The Last Adam”—Jesus. The first Adam is the head of the human race and when we entered his race, we received from him a sin nature and a death nature.

Jesus is the head of the spiritual race and the moment we entered His spiritual race, we received from Him spiritual crucifixion, burial and resurrection (Romans 6:3-5). Even though these truths are clearly stated in Scripture, many Christians have rejected them.

Until we believe and experience our spiritual crucifixion, burial and resurrection, we will not experience the fullness of the abundant life Jesus promised in John 10:10
