YOU CAN BE GREAT

Have you ever had a desire to be looked upon as one of the great ones? Whether  you have or not, you can be one of the great ones.

Read Jesus’ words about greatness that are recorded in Matthew 20:25-28.

“You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave - just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Have you ever considered the way Jesus served humanity while He was here on earth? Almost everything Jesus did for others during His earthly ministry included words - words of love, comfort, encouragement, enlightenment, and guidance. He used words to perform miracles.

Doesn’t that sound simple? If we will let Jesus express Himself through us, He will do the same thing again. Anyone filled with the divine love and boldness of Jesus can be His instrument in serving others through words.

Think about it! It costs little or no money - just a postage stamp or long distance telephone call, or personal visit is involved. But for the most part we don’t even have to go out of our way. For many hours of the day we are with others in one setting or another.

Greatness is at your fingertips! Rather, greatness is at the tip of your tongue.

If you will continue to obey the five commands for living the life of grace, one of the results will be greatness in the sight of God. Try it!
