PATHS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake.  Psalm 23:3

When the Lord is our Shepherd and we follow His leadership in the paths of righteousness, our lives will bring glory to Him.

Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” First Corinthians 10:31 says, “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

In Romans 8:3-4, Paul writes that Jesus came so that those who walk according to the Spirit can fulfill the righteous requirement of the law. Romans 13:10 says that love is that requirement. We are filled love when we are filled with the Spirit, and our acts of love bring glory to God.

When David followed the Lord in the paths of righteousness, he brought glory to the Lord. Believers today can walk in the paths of righteousness (love) and can bring glory to God in the strength provided by the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:9 says, “Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.” However, even though the Holy Spirit is in a person, he may not be walking in the Spirit and bringing glory to God.

We walk in the Spirit when we are filled with the Spirit. Unfortunately, many believers have not been told about the Holy Spirit and the power that comes when we are filled with the Spirit. They have not been told that their lives can bring glory to God when they are filled with the Spirit by living out their oneness with Christ.
