GOD’S INHERITANCE

Early in his Ephesian letter, the Apostle Paul records a prayer for his readers. He prays that their eyes will be opened so they may know several things. One of Paul’s desires for his readers is that they may know:

… the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints …Ephesians 1:18b

Perhaps you often think of your earthly inheritance. However, this passage refers to God’s inheritance. And His inheritance is in the saints. The word saints is a reference to all who have been born into the Kingdom of God.

Do you get the message? You are God’s inheritance. You are of great value to God.

The value of a born-again believer is not what he can accomplish for God. The value of a born-again believer is that he can provide God an opportunity to live again on this earth - through the believer.

In John 15:5, Jesus seems to say it all. Apart from Him we can do nothing. In fellowship with Him we can bear much fruit. Read His revealing statement.

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.  John 15:5a

And how can we abide. Just continue to live out the five imperatives and you will abide.
