THOSE “UNBELIEVABLE” BELIEVERS

You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain … John 15:16

We were called to bear fruit for God. One’s fruit can be so abundant he and his fruitfulness can be described as “unbelievable.”

Examine some of the fruit-bearing promises in The New Testament.

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.  John 15:5

Jesus testified that believers will do greater miracles than He did.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who [continually] believes [trusts] in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.  John 14:12

Jesus said believers may be the source of rivers of life-giving water.

He who [continually] believes [trusts] in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.  John 7:38

Paul writes of the fruit-bearing of believers who are free from legalism and live as brides of Christ.

Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.  Romans 7:4

A close study of these fruit-bearing promises reveals that our need is nothing more than a life of total dependence on Jesus.

If one would continually live out the five commands of Romans 6:11-13, the result would be a life of total dependence on Jesus. He and the fruitfulness produced by Jesus through him would be described by some as “unbelievable.”
