healing of our land

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.  2 Chronicles 7:14

It is a joy to hear of spiritual revivals. Occasionally, we hear of spiritual awakenings throughout an entire nation. Most every nation on earth is in need of such an awakening right now. Those of us who live in the United States testify that we have been in need of revival for many years. Fortunately, some testify that they see signs of revival here.

If we are not in the early stages of revival, we can be if we follow the directions of 2 Chronicles 7:14. We need to humble ourselves and pray. We need to seek the face of God. We need to repent of sin. Romans 14:23 declares, “…whatever is not from faith is sin.

When we live out the life of grace, we are living by faith in God. Most of us would likely confess that not a day goes by that we do not unconsciously slip back into faith in ourselves. Something goes wrong and without thinking of God at all we immediately try to solve the problem. We sinned because our faith was in ourselves and not in God.

Those who live out their oneness with Christ know that the quickest way to be free of faith in ourselves and return to faith in God is to confess our sin and then follow the directions of Romans 6:11-13.

When we do this, we humble ourselves and pray. We seek the face of God and we turn from our sin.

When believers live out their union with Christ, they are doing their part to bring to our nation the healing God gives. The spread of the message of grace brings us closer to the healing of our land.
