RESURRECTION OF JESUS

Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever.  Hebrews 13:20-21

When Jesus shed His blood at the cross, He created a new covenant. Through that new covenant God works in believers that which is well pleasing in His sight.

Those to whom the Book of Hebrews was written were being tempted to return to the old covenant because they were being persecuted for living under the new covenant. Jesus rose from the dead as that great Shepherd of the sheep who had suffered far more than the sufferings His followers were going through. He was declared as the High Priest who had suffered far more that His followers (Hebrews 2:18).

The crucified and resurrected great Shepherd and High Priest of all believers prays to the heavenly Father for those who are persecuted for living under the new covenant with personal knowledge of the nature of the temptation.

He prays with loving heart and concern for other weaknesses of His followers.

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace; we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.  Hebrews 4:15-16

Let us find great strength in realizing that in our weaknesses and temptations a prayer meeting is going on in heaven for us.
