REJECTION!

And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him  (Isaiah 53:2b-3).

While many flocked to Jesus for His miracles and his teachings, He was clearly a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. Much of that sorrow and grief was the result of rejection.

When the Scriptures refer to Christians as strangers and pilgrims (1 Peter 2:11), among other things rejection is implied.

Surely, Jesus lived in continual victory over the rejection He experienced. We must do the same. And we may do the same. The verse below tells us how Jesus faced rejection.

He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him  (John 8:29a).

Jesus lived in continual fellowship with the Father. His acceptance by the Father compensated for all the rejection of man. It can be the same with us.

Our one certain assurance of continual fellowship with the Father is our continual living out the five imperatives of Romans 6:11-13.
