THE PEACEFUL HEART

You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You (Isaiah 26:3)

Many of God’s children have found peace through the passage quoted above. And they have found peace in the following passages.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you (Philippians 4:8).

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control … (Galatians 5:22-23a).

When we live out the five imperatives of Romans 6:11-13, we will have our minds on God, pray with thanksgiving, think and live as God would have us do, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
