fellow workers with god

For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building. According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it.  1 Corinthians 3:9-10

The church at Corinth was God’s building. Paul laid the foundation and other believers built on it. They were God’s fellow workers. All believers have a calling so important that God uses us as fellow workers with Him. When we grasp this truth, none of us will ever consider ourselves to be of no value to God.

Consider the conversion of a lost person. In some cases, one person tells him about his need for Christ. Another person tells him how to receive Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Another encourages him to accept Jesus. The life of another believer influences him to receive Jesus. Each is a fellow worker with God.

We are fellow workers with God through prayer. John writes in 1 John 5:14-15, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” God is waiting on His children to ask Him to do what He desires to do.

Every believer can realize his high calling to be a fellow worker with God. He needs to know that God wants to use him. He needs to make himself available to God. He needs to do what God wants him to do.

We increase our effectiveness in being fellow workers with God when we continue to receive the filling of the Holy Spirit. He reveals to us the things the Father waits on us to do. He enables us to do the things He wants us to do.

Our heavenly Father has plans for each one of us to be His fellow worker. We all have this high calling.
