SHARING GRACE

For this reason I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.  1 Corinthians 4:17

When Paul writes, “… my ways in Christ,” he is referring to his life of union with Christ in crucifixion, burial and resurrection. Paul was referring to his life in grace. He says that he teaches his life in Christ—his life of grace—everywhere in every church.

All who have come to the life of grace can be enabled by the Lord to teach the message everywhere they go. In one way, teaching grace for Christian living is like teaching grace for salvation. Not everyone is ready to hear you.

Even though the message of grace is plainly taught in the New Testament few believers have ever heard about it. Often someone hearing the message for the first time says, “I have never heard of this in my entire Christian life.” This fact alone keeps some from receiving the message.

Some have not yet burnt out on the traditional approach to living the Christian life—commitment. They cannot believe they are not correct in their approach to walking with and serving God.

Satan convinces some to reject the message. Even some believers convince fellow believers to reject the message.

Whatever the reason is for the rejection of the message, those of us who are experiencing the life of grace need to be open to the leadership of the Holy Spirit to share it.

Some will reject the message at first but weeks or years later will accept it. God has prepared some to receive the message the first time they hear it.
