Living by Grace

Dedicated to providing guidance in daily living through the power of God's grace as experienced in our union with Christ.

Releasing the Trinity for Ministry

When a believer lives out the five imperatives for living by God’s grace, he releases the trinity for ministry. The last of the five commands is:

… [present] your members as instruments of righteousness to God.  Romans 6:13c

In living out the life of grace we release the Father to express His righteousness—His acts of love—through the parts of our bodies to the world around us.

Living out the five imperatives releases God the Son to express Himself through us.

Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.  Romans 7:4

When we experience the crucifixion of our flesh through obeying the five commands, we break the marriage to law. This allows us to be married to the Lord Jesus—Who is the head of the marriage, expressing His will through us. When we so live, we bring forth fruit unto God.

When we live out the five imperatives, we become the vessel of the Holy Spirit through which He can live.

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.  Romans 8:11

Paul uses “dwell” here in the sense of our being filled with the Holy Spirit. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, He gives life to these mortal bodies and expresses Himself through them to the world around.

Psalm 78:41 declares that Israel limited the Holy One of Israel. We can do the same. But we also can release Father, Son, and Holy Spirit to live through us to be a blessing to the world around us.
